Camp Constitution Luncheon Featuring Pastor Charl van Whk, Christian Missionary, Author and Activist in Africa
September 18, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT
Our next luncheon will be held on Monday September 18—12:00 Noon at the Lane House 177 Waltham St. Lexington. Our guest speaker will be Pastor Charl van Whk. His topic: Shooting Back
Charl van Wyk is a Christian missionary, author and activist in Africa.
His belief in his Christian duty to protect the innocent, vulnerable and oppressed led him to single-handedly return fire in the midst of a terrorist attack, saving many lives! Armed with only a 38 revolver, Pastor Charl returned fire as a group of communists armed with automatic rifles were attending to kill every man, woman and child in the church. While they murdered eleven and wounded dozens more, Pastor Charl’s actions saved dozens of people from death.
The story of how God led Charl to forgive and pursue reconciliation with his attackers is captured in his best-selling book, Shooting Back – The Right and Duty of Self-defense.
Now he is engaged in a new war – a battle to establish kingdom-focused covenant communities in Southern Africa.
