Dear Friends and Supporters,
A little over two years ago, with your support and encouragement, we made a full-throttle attempt to hold the Governor’s seat in Massachusetts. Like you, I saw that my republican primary opponent would be defeated by a landslide (which he was) and the Healey Administration would quickly embark on their promise of overspending and overtaxation (which they have).
Although I still feel the sting of our loss and I continue to worry about the declining quality of life in our Commonwealth, I take comfort in knowing that together, you and I, stood on the right side of history in that election. The friendships Leslie and I developed during the campaign continue to be the greatest of all consolation prizes. We cannot adequately convey to you how much your support and faith has meant to us.
Since the campaign, we have continued to support both candidates and organizations that support sound economic policies. We are encouraged that our state party is making steady headway towards relevancy once again. We support their efforts and hope that you will as well.
Towards the end of last year, we were approached to serve a three year volunteer service mission for our Church (Church of Jesus Christ) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was not an easy decision to put our pursuits on hold for a few years and leave our home, friends, and family. At the same time, we have felt a strong desire to contribute where needed and accepted the request.
In this capacity, we will have the responsibility to serve an area in Argentina approximately the size of Massachusetts. We will serve alongside 180 young volunteer missionaries and other adults. I had the opportunity to serve in Argentina for two years as a young missionary in the early 1980’s so this is also a home coming for me.
We know that in three years there will remain opportunities to serve alongside each of you again, so we look forward to staying in contact with you for the many years to come. And if there is anything we can do to be helpful to you in your good causes, please do not hesitate to reach out.
All the very best,
Chris and Leslie Doughty |
The way Doughty has been demonized, I thought he was the devil… going off to do missionary work???
WTF is wrong with your reporting? You better realize that, in order to defeat the Moonbats in this State and Nationally, we need to work together. If not, we’ll have another 4 years of Biden, Healy looks to be vulnerable with the illegals issue, and Wu (she is very weak) is barely hanging on mentally. Plus Wu would make a wonderful leader at Harvard.
70% of the voters are Independents. That’s whose vote you need. WAKE UP!
