Cape Cod State Rep. Flanagan Refuses to Comment on the Record

Disgraced Democrat State Representative Chris Flanagan, 1st Barnstable district, who was separated from his role as CEO of the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod after the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance fined Flanagan for blatant campaign fraud upon the voters and lying to investigators, has a new problem:  another government investigation against the Cape Cod politician.

Chief Kevin Lennon of the Yarmouth Police Department has confirmed that a report was filed with the Yarmouth Police Department involving Flanagan.  After reviewing the report, the Yarmouth Police Department has referred the report to the Barnstable Police Department for further action.

Yesterday, when asked to comment on the Barnstable Police investigation, Flanagan denied any knowledge of an investigation stating, “I really don’t know what you are talking about.”  When pressed with specifics by the Broadside, Flanagan repeatedly insisted that any words from him were not for print and must be “off the record.”  He was asked, “When something related to this investigation is printed, would you like to include a comment?”  Flanagan was silent and abruptly ended the call.
Rumors of an investigation have been widespread for weeks and were first alluded to on the WXTK Ed Lambert Radio Show where the host deflected any discussion of the matter until the upcoming reports can be released to the public along with any appropriate police action.

Editor’s Note:  Flanagan’s opponent has released a video and press release stating he will not get involved in the latest Flanagan controversy. The Broadside has also been reluctant to engage in this first highly-rumored investigation, currently awaiting the government’s release of documentation. Our phones remain open for the rep. and we take no offense by the abrupt hang-up.
