LEAGUE’S ANNUAL ROSARY AT
CURLEY GRAVE RECEIVES NATIONAL COVERAGE IN CATHOLIC PRESS

The Annual Rosary of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts, held each year in November at the grave of Boston Mayor and Massachusetts Governor James Michael Curley, has just received national (and international) coverage in the Catholic press.

Mayor Curley’s anniversary—his Dies natalis in caeli—is November 12th. The Rosary is held on the Saturday prior to that date, which this year, fell on November 9th.

Matt McDonald, the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the New Boston Post, was present in Boston’s Old Calvary Cemetery to report on the event for the National Catholic Register, one of the highest circulation Catholic newspapers in the United States.

Among the attendees interviewed by McDonald were former Boston Mayor and U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See Ray Flynn, League Executive Director C.J. Doyle, Curley scholar and Suffolk University Professor Larry Overlan, Attorney Robert Joyce, the former President of the Pro-Life Legal Defense Fund, and longtime League members Gerard and Dana Marrocco.

McDonald also cited the short but perceptive biography of Curley by former Massachusetts Senate President (and University of Massachusetts President) William Bulger.

McDonald’s engaging and informative article—replete with gifted photography—was published by the Register on November 30th.

The next day, McDonald’s article was re-printed on the website of EWTN Great Britain.

Catholicism.org also reported on McDonald’s story.

The Catholic Action League was quoted in a second Matt McDonald story—this time on Boston Mayor Michelle Wu’s belated decision to include Catholic school students in the city’s free museum pass program.

That story was published by the National Catholic Register and the Catholic News Agency on December 9th.

The League’s widely reported statement, calling for the prosecution of the thugs who disrupted the Boston Men’s March To Abolish Abortion, was published in the December print edition of the Boston Broadside.

On December 5th, C.J. Doyle was interviewed on WSRN Radio 620 AM, in Washington, for the program Levin At 11. Doyle discussed the positions on the right to life of President Donald Trump’s Cabinet and other Administration appointees.

Finally, the League’s News Analysis on the peril faced by Christians as a consequence of the Biden engineered regime change in Syria, was carried on Catholicism.org on December 9th.

The Catholic Action League would like to extend its sincere thanks to Matt McDonald and to the National Catholic Register for the splendid coverage they afforded us regarding our annual commemoration of Boston’s Mayor of the Poor.
