Rally Against Ben & Jerry’s Anti-Semitism
October 17, 2021 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm EDT
October 17, 2021
There will be a rally today – 1:30pm, Stop & Shop Branch Ave (333 W. River St), Providence — to raise public awareness about Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream’s anti-Semitic policy of withdrawing their business from Judea and Samaria in Israel.
The rally is being organized by RI Coalition for Israel, an activist group of Christians and Jews supporting Israel and fighting Jew-hatred.
Ben & Jerry’s discriminatory policy supports the BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanctions) movement, whose goal is the destruction of the State of Israel. The direct purpose of the rally will be to ask the public to stop buying Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream and to ask all RI Supermarkets to stop selling Ben & Jerry’s products.
At the behest of RI Coalition for Israel, the RI Attorney-General’s office has conducted an investigation to determine whether Ben & Jerry’s parent company Unilever is in violation of H-7736, RI’s anti-BDS law. Copies of the Attorney-General’s response will be available at the rally.
RI Coalition for Israel has also requested RI’s Washington delegation to initiate an investigation to see if Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream company’s boycott of the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem violates the Export Administration Act of 1969, which states that the president is directed to “prohibit compliance with or support of any foreign boycott against a country which is friendly to the United States, with specified exceptions.”
