Mass. Democrat Senator Cyr Seeks to Research Barriers Against Cannabis Use by First Responders
Democrat Senator Julian “I am gay” Cyr (he proclaims his homosexuality at seemingly every opportunity) has offered SD.146, a bill which the senator seeks to direct the cannabis control commission and the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security to study and report on the barriers related to first responders and their legal right to use cannabis in the commonwealth. The commission shall research amongst other things “the efficacy of using cannabis for treating anxiety, depression, stress, post-traumatic stress disorder and other traumas, and (vi) laws, policies and practices regarding cannabis use by police officers and first responders in other states and jurisdictions.”
In perhaps a more serious filing, Senator Cyr seeks with SD.148 to name the Atlantic Horseshoe Crab (Limulus polyphemus) as the official marine invertebrate of the commonwealth.
Speaking of the sea, Senator Cyr, with SD.252, seeks to provide a $5 tax credit to “A taxpayer who donates oyster shells to an oyster shell recycling organization.” The amount of the credit is equal to five dollars per full 5-gallon bucket of oyster shells donated. ♦
