WEST YARMOUTH: You Can Run, But You Can’t Hide – HEALY TO FILL THE SCHOOLS WITH ILLEGAL ALIENS

NOTE BETWEEN ISSUES

Just a note to let you know your friend is wrong.

Your friend told you that she welcomes illegals into the U.S.

You, you love immigrants, and welcome the millions that come here, through legal immigration, not illegal immigration.

But, now, your friend is a little concerned. Seems the illegals are now in HER town.

Your friend told you they’re not displacing anyone.
But, now your friend is a little concerned: she heard illegals were on the Cape, but they were at the military base. Not to worry. Now, they’ve arrive in several other towns.

Your friend, living in tony West Yarmouth wasn’t concerned. There might as well be a million miles between West Yarmouth and Bourne.

But, now your friend is a little concerned. The Yarmouth Resort on Rt 28 in West Yarmouth just jacked up their rates – doubled them, to kick out the previous long-term residents. Instead of a reported $300/week/room, the Healey folks have apparently struck a deal to pay $700/week, per room.

Your friend told you it probably won’t be that big of a deal, because the families will easily be absorbed into the local school system.

Your friend is now worried: property taxes aren’t cheap on Cape Cod, and now Barnstable County is putting almost three dozen English-as-a-Second-Language teachers onto their payroll (along with any equity/inclusion/LGBTQWTF they can figure out to add). And the cost doesn’t end there. The non-English speakers, at every level, need seats, desks, books, sport equipment, cafeteria space, track uniforms, etc.

Your friend is not worried. She told you she’ll just put her kids in a private school.

But you told your friend: at first, Healy came for the public housing, the shelters, the public-paid military bases. When she ran out of room, on her quest to apparently place 1 MILLION illegals in Massachusetts by the end of her first year in office (but to be fair to her, she inherited almost 400,000 already in-state when she took office), Healy reached out to PRIVATE motels and hotels.

But you reminded your friend: they filled the PUBLIC housing, now Healy is filling the PRIVATE housing. She’s on her way to fill the PUBLIC schools, and when she runs out of space, what will stop her from buying out the PRIVATE school seats?

Your friend is in near panic now. Homeschooling is not an option for her. Her kids are going to be impacted, having up to a third of their classmates speaking other languages. All great, diversity and all, but looks like it will be a challenging few years in the precious school years. And how effective/safe/appropriate will this culture tidal wave be for her kids? Is it just too much, all at once? Who pays for it? What overrides will there be to school budgets? And buildings??

Or, perhaps your friend will just keep voting Democrat, and just keep getting what she’s getting, and that will be what it is. And her kids, well, does it really matter? They’ll meet new friends, probably learn some new culture and languages, and really, what’s a few years of school? The teacher’s union is fighting to eliminate all standardized testing, so no one will know if there is a decline of any kind in the quality of education, and no accountability. Where’s the problem?
