Come protest the Newton Public Library’s anti-Israel “art” exhibit entitled “The Ongoing & Relentless Nakba.”

The protest will be held at the library during the exhibit’s “reception” on Thursday night, May 9, which is scheduled to begin at 6:30 P.M.

IMPORTANT: Seating is limited. First-come-first-served. It is very important for you to arrive early, by 5 or 5:30. The library’s address is 330 Homer Street in Newton.

The exhibit consists of about a dozen photographs by rabidly anti-Israel, BDS-supporting photographer Skip Schiel, and a framed statement promoting the central motif of modern anti-Semitism: that the Jews “stole the land.”

The library and city have refused to provide any context, balance, or opportunity for contesting this lie. Mayor Ruthanne Fuller, like many of today’s politicians, resists choosing sides. She has not spoken out against the this blood libel, or explained how and why it is not “art,” but propaganda. Our only option is to come personally, and assertively oppose this attack on our community.

Jews in Newton should be angered by this decision by city officials to give a platform to anti-Semites, given the surging anti-Semitic events in our community and across the country.

We should be very assertive in making our voices heard at and during this event, though it is crucial that people obey the law and comply fully with all valid police orders.
