by Karla Miller
Candidate, Mass. State Senate, 1st Middlesex

There is a growing need for all citizens to get involved since there is so much at stake in Massachusetts. The Mass. Legislature’s hard swing to the left is hurting workers, families, and taxpayers. The disconnect between Beacon Hill and those it represents has continued to worsen and that is why I’m running. Costs are spiraling out of control, whether it’s gas, groceries, housing or energy. The cost of living is through the roof in the Commonwealth, and we are outpacing the rest of the country.

Reckless spending without accountability is dangerous under any circumstances, but it becomes insulting when it’s done on behalf of those who have been brought here illegally, by human traffickers.

The latest budget proposal includes one billion dollars of spending on unfettered illegal immigration, and we are left to foot the bill.

The Governor and the Democrat Legislature are ignoring the consequences the immigrants face when they take the dangerous path to come here illegally. Immigrants risk being human trafficked, sex trafficked and too many have drowned or died in the desert. Immigrants are extorted by the cartel. Some remain under the Cartels control until their debt is paid in full. There are eighty-five thousand missing children now in this country. Where is the compassion? This is a humanitarian crisis that must end along with our sanctuary policies.

It’s time for new leadership. I want to bring back common-sense policies, traditional values, and work to secure a brighter future by preserving our FREEDOM!

A native of Chelmsford, I have resided in Lowell for over 22 years. I am married with a daughter and a granddaughter. As a businesswoman, I am financially responsible, fiscally conservative and a problem solver. My qualities of hard work ethics, passionate dedication and integrity will allow me to tackle the tough issues we are facing head-on. If elected, as your State Senator, I want to change the direction back to working in the best interest of the people and not the best interest of the government.

I will work to reverse the course we are on and make Massachusetts a place people want to live not leave.
